Rex, Elton John oder The Animals in den 1960er und 1970er Jahren entstanden, wobei zu erwähnen ist, dass alle Tracks neu remastered wurden. James Last – “On The Rocks” erscheint als 4CD Box
James Last und Rockmusik – wie passt das zusammen? Sehr gut sogar! In den 1960er und 1970er Jahren entdeckte der „Partykönig“ die internationale Rockszene für sich und nahm Hits von Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, John Lennon, Neil Diamond, Santana, The Sweet, Van Morrison, The Eagles, Bob Marley, The Animals und vielen anderen auf. Nicht nur seine Fans waren begeistert, auch Musikkritiker und teilweise sogar die Originalkünstler waren sich einig: seine Versionen waren so gut wie die Titel aus den internationalen Charts.
Das 4-CD-Set “JAMES LAST ON THE ROCKS” vereint erstmals alle rockigen Highlights von James Last, aufgenommen mit einer Gruppe von Sängerinnen und Sängern, die er persönlich in Londoner Tonstudios auswählte: die JAMES LAST COMPANY bestand aus Sue Glover und Sunny Leslie (von Brotherhood of Man), Margo Quantrell und Jean Ryder (von den Breakaways), Lyn Cornell (von den Pearls), Kay Garner (von den Ladybirds), Tony Burrows (von Edison Lighthouse) sowie den Studiosängern Neil Lancaster und Peter Barnfather. Sie bilden den Kern von James Lasts groovigem Rocksound!
Alle Tracks wurden frisch remastered, ein informatives und bebildertes Booklet erzählt von James Lasts „Rock-Ära“ und enthält interessante Details zu allen Songs.
